Great start to the New Year Cattle Egret at Iken

2016 has started well
with a British and Suffolk first for me.
Cattle Egret
at Iken

Decided to try to see the Cattle Egret at Iken, I turned up at a very soggy Iken, plenty of Little Egrets, but no Cattle Egret, but 80 plus Siskin's in the Alder tree.

Several birders turned up after a couple of hours, we were all scanning the sky and fields, when Kerry Reeve spotted it nearly completely hidden behind a hedge, sitting on a post preening, WELL DONE KERRY !!

Manual focused because branches in front

Later it was more obliging
