My Rambles throughout Suffolk through my lens during February 2026 so far

My Rambles throughout Suffolk through my lens during February 2026

The first 2 days were wet and grim

February 3rd

Still grim but morning dry and very cold and windy, decided to give Boyton RSPB a look with the boys, whilst driving down the track towards the reserve we spotted a huge flock of finches, closer inspection revealed there were Chaffinches, Bramblings, Greenfinches, Goldfinches and Linnets, totally at least 300 birds, quite a sight!
A photo of a few of them perched, light so bad, so no pics of the flock.

Good numbers of White fronted Geese

The boys spotted these Geese at a distance with their scopes. So not a very clear image because of the distance and the awful light, a debated ensued about wether they were Pink footed or Tundra Bean Geese, Obsidentify says 67% Tundra Been and 31% Pink footed.

A Red Kite flew overhead whilst we were debating the geese
