My Rambles throughout Suffolk through my lens during February 2026 so far

My Rambles throughout Suffolk through my lens during February 2026

The first 2 days were wet and grim

February 3rd

Still grim but morning dry and very cold and windy, decided to give Boyton RSPB a look with the boys, whilst driving down the track towards the reserve we spotted a huge flock of finches, closer inspection revealed there were Chaffinches, Bramblings, Greenfinches, Goldfinches and Linnets, totally at least 300 birds, quite a sight!
A photo of a few of them perched, light so bad, so no pics of the flock.

Good numbers of White fronted Geese

The boys spotted these Geese at a distance with their scopes. So not a very clear image because of the distance and the awful light, a debated ensued about wether they were Pink footed or Tundra Bean Geese, Obsidentify says 67% Tundra Been and 31% Pink footed.

A Red Kite flew overhead whilst we were debating the geese

7th February
after 2 days of rain I decided to give East Lane a look, may be the Purple Sandpipers may be on the clay as the low tide was 08.30.
And they were feeding on the clay.
Also the sun popped out for awhile!!!!

There were several Turnstones with them.
