Evening visit to Minsmere

We decided to give Minsmere a look on Thursday evening, a Bittern was showing in front of the Bittern hide, he never came out in the open, fished and preened half hidden.

 

 

Waited for an hour but he never emerged from the reeds, so decided to join my mates on a tour of the hides, the Sun was very bright and when it got low it gave a warm glow to the birds, on the way to East hide spotted a young Swallow perched in the full setting sun near the sluice.

 

 

Then some great looking Black Tailed Godwits in breeding plumage glowing in the setting sun!

Got home from work quickly ate my dinner and went out with my camera to enjoy the evening sun.

Then down to the river just before dark found 17 Black tailed Godwit's

 

 

 

 

Great Morning in Suffolk

Woke up early this morning the Sun was shining so had quick breakfast and headed out to enjoy the early morning sun, had a great morning fledglings and plus lots more!!

 

Finally spotted a youngster that the pair of Little Owl's, I have been watching for a couple weeks now, have produced.
