Windy Day in Suffolk

It was a windy day on Bank Holiday Monday so I was not expecting much in the way of small birds
But it turned out OK

Then on to Shingle Street, were I met up with Dave and Margaret Carter who kindly point out were the Whinchats, Stonechat and Wheatear were!

First For Suffolk SPANISH SPARROW

Went down to Landguard with my mate Eddie Marsh today, after a couple of hours watching from Observatory decide to walk to photograph the Whinchats we had seen. Only out there for a few minutes when stumble across what I thought was a Tree Sparrow, but it turned out to be a Mega rarity a Spanish Sparrow a first for Suffolk and only 7 have been seen since 1950 in Gt Britain!!
 
 

 
 

Cuckoo at Shingle Street

After Boyton went to Shingle St, was watching a Wheater when this young Cuckoo popped up on a fence only 15ft  away from me and stayed for over one hour.

Great Afternoon at Boyton

Saturday  started off quitely, but got a lot better at Boyton.

First a Greenshank



Then Wood Sandpiper not great shots but, very shy and distant bird!



Then my mate Andy Last spotted at Wheatear

Then right next to Wheatear a Whinchat arrived.
